APK is the file type Android uses to install an app. When you install from Google Play, your device downloads the same kind of file and handles it for you. Installing an APK yourself means doing that step by hand, so it matters where the file comes from.
An APK works only on Android devices, which include Android TV and Amazon Fire TV. It does not work on a Windows PC, a Samsung or LG TV, an iPhone or an iPad.
Do you need an APK?

Install and open
When the download is done, choose Install, then Open. You can delete the downloaded file afterwards: the app stays installed.
How to stay safe
- Use the official source. Take the code from this website, not from a video or a message that someone forwarded to you.
- Avoid changed copies. A file from an unknown site can be changed, and can contain something you do not want on your device.
- Be careful with what you type in. Your playlist details are private. Enter them only in an app you trust.
After you install
