How to use an IPTV player on Windows
NewTV Player turns a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC into a screen for the playlist you already have, whether that is an M3U link or an Xtream (XC) login from your provider. Here is how to set it up, and how to drive it with the keyboard and mouse.
What you need
- A PC with Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit, kept up to date.
- Your own playlist: an M3U link or an Xtream (XC) login from your provider. NewTV Player comes with none.
- A steady internet connection: a network cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi is the most reliable.
Set it up in four steps
Install it from the Microsoft Store
On your PC, open the Microsoft Store, type NewTV Player into its search box and download the app. The Windows install page has a button that opens it in the Store.
Write down its two codes
Start NewTV Player from the Start menu. Its home screen lists them: the App ID and the key.
Paste in your playlist
In a browser on the same PC, open Manage device, enter both codes there, and add the M3U link or XC login your provider gave you. You can paste it in, so nothing has to be typed by hand.
Return to the app
Open its home screen again: the app loads the playlist by itself, sorted into live TV, films and series as your playlist has them.
Keyboard and mouse
- Arrow keys and Enter move around and choose, like a TV remote.
- Escape or Backspace goes back.
- F11 fills the whole screen. Press it again to bring the window back.
- The mouse works too: point at something and click it. The wheel scrolls lists, and the mouse's back button goes back.
Why an app and not a web browser
Many playlists use video and sound formats that a web browser cannot play. NewTV Player for Windows has a full player built in, so it also plays MKV and AVI video and surround sound such as Dolby and DTS. It opens big playlists one category at a time, so even a very large list does not slow your PC down.
