What is an XC IPTV (Xtream) login, and how to use it
Many providers give a host address, a username and a password instead of one playlist link. Here is what those three are, and how to add them to NewTV Player.
The three parts of an XC login
- Host: the server's address, often with a port, like
http://example.com:8080. - Username: the name your provider gave you.
- Password: the password that goes with it.
"XC" and "Xtream Codes" are two names for the same kind of login. With it, NewTV Player reads live TV, films and series as separate sections, with a programme guide and, where your provider keeps recordings, catch-up.
Add it in four steps
Open NewTV Player
Note the App ID and key on the home screen.
Go to the website
Open newtvplayer.com/device on your phone or computer and enter the App ID and key.
Press Add XC
Fill in Playlist name, Host, Username and Password, then press Save.
Press Reload on the TV
Live TV, films and series load into their own sections.
XC login or M3U link?
If your provider gives both, the XC login is usually the better choice: the sections, the guide and catch-up come with it. An M3U link holds a single list. Some links contain an XC login already (they include username= and password=): either way works.
Keep it private
A login is like a password: anyone who has it can use it. Add it only on newtvplayer.com, and you can lock a playlist with a PIN when you add it ("Lock this playlist with a PIN").
Have a link instead? See how to add an M3U playlist.
NewTV Player is a media player only: it comes with no channels, films or playlists. Before you add any content, make sure you have the legal right to watch it.
